Head Teacher's Blog 23rd April 2018

23rd April 2018

Last week saw the re-start of the football season and both teams played well. Swansfield Park Rangers played away at Shilbottle and won 5 - 1 while Swansfield Park Rovers played at St Michael’s and lost 6 - 4 despite being in the lead with less than 5 minutes to go.

We will be working with the children in preparation for the family learning task this term and in support of Alnwick’s entry for the Northumbria in Bloom competition. We would like families to create a container (the wackier the better) of plants, some of which should be edible. In assembly I’ll be planting up some RNLI wellies with some herbs, carrots, chard and strawberries and showing the children how to grow seeds.

Last term the children worked on designing three mosaics for our school grounds. This week they will be working with the artist John Craggs, Sue Patience and Claire Mead on this project.

Last week the attendance was 96.2%, and Ash Class managed an outstanding 100% - well done.

Other dates to remember this week are:

  • Willow Class assembly - Thursday at 2:30pm
  • Swansfield Rovers v Ellingham Friday kick off 3:30pm (venue to be confirmed)
  • Whittingham v Swansfield Rangers - Friday kick off 3:30pm
