Blog & Homework for week commencing 1st of November 2021

Blog & Homework for week commencing 1st of November

Hello everyone,
I hope you all managed to have some relaxing time as well as some Halloween fun over the half term holidays. I also hope that you are all keeping well and are ready for another busy half term! Miss Langman will now be teaching in Willow Class every Wednesday morning with Mrs Sapor continuing her teaching on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. I know the class love being taught by both members of staff and it will be lovely to have Miss Langman back in the classroom. Both members of staff will teach whilst I continue to have Planning and Preparation time as well as a full day working within SEND.
We are lucky enough to have an extra session of PE this half term. Rugby will be on a Wednesday afternoon ( see uniform details below).
I have reset all children's Bug Club passwords. They have all received their new details as well as log-in details for Sumdog in preparation for our mega maths competition next week!

CELEBRATIONS
Our Star of the Week certificate goes to Freya Sills for all oh her hard work, contribution to class discussions and fantastic art work. Sadly, Freya has moved on to a different school and we wish her all the very best!

P.E
For this half term our PE sessions take place on a Tuesday morning as well as a Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure your child comes to school in a school PE kit on both days please.

In line with our Covid-19 Risk Assessment, we are asking children to come into school in their outdoor PE kit on the day of their PE lesson. Children should wear black joggers or leggings or as the weather gets warmer, children may wish to wear their purple shorts, their white PE t-shirt, purple school jumper and trainers. Please make sure that your child also has a named water bottle in school.

Homework Overview

Google Classroom ~ Please go to Google Classroom to see full details of this week's homework.

Spellings ~ Go to Spelling Frame for this week's spellings. Complete at least 2 games and a test. Spellings will be tested on a Monday morning. Again, the class have logged on to have a go at using Spelling Frame.

Times Tables Rockstars ~ Jump on to TTRS to practise your times table facts.

Bug Club ~ I have allocated everyone in class a 'book band'. As your child works their way through the books, they will automatically move through the bands when ready. As they read each book, they must complete all of the 'bug challenges'. All passwords have been reset. If you continue to have difficulty logging in, please let me know and we will try the password out on a school computer.

 TOP TIPS FOR HOMEWORK...
~ Little and often...and not last minute! Give yourself enough time to complete homework tasks. Why not get as much done through the week so you can have the weekend off : )
~ Be comfortable...make sure you work in a comfortable space, perhaps with a drink and snack.
~ Have little screen breaks to keep your eyes healthy and happy!

If for any reason, on any week, you have any issues with homework, please just let me know. Children have been sent home with all passwords they will need for now. Please keep them all in a safe place.
