Blog & Homework for week commencing 8th of November 2021

Blog & Homework for week commencing 8th of November

Hello everyone,
I hope this week's blog finds you all well and that you have all had a lovely weekend. We have our school trip to look forward to this Friday and we can't wait to explore what Beamish has to offer! You will have all seen the Parent Letter which gives you an overview of the day, including drop off and pick up times. Don't forget sensible bottoms and school tops, as well as coats, hats, possibly gloves and sensible footwear. Not forgetting packed lunches! I'm sure we will have a fantastic day.

CELEBRATIONS
Our Star of the Week certificate goes to Sophie Colgan McKnight for her confident, enthusiastic and very informative contribution as part of her team's presentation on climate change - well done Sophie! The rest of your team did very well and I will give extra school 360 points.

P.E
For this half term our PE sessions take place on a Tuesday morning as well as a Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure your child comes to school in a school PE kit on both days please.

In line with our Covid-19 Risk Assessment, we are asking children to come into school in their outdoor PE kit on the day of their PE lesson. Children should wear black joggers or leggings or as the weather gets warmer, children may wish to wear their purple shorts, their white PE t-shirt, purple school jumper and trainers. Please make sure that your child also has a named water bottle in school.

Homework Overview

Sumdog ~ There is no Google Classroom homework this week as Willow Class are one of many taking part in the Sumdog competition which runs from Friday the 5th until Friday the 12th of November.

Spellings ~ Go to Spelling Frame for this week's spellings. Complete at least 2 games and a test. Spellings will be tested on a Monday morning. Again, the class have logged on to have a go at using Spelling Frame.

Times Tables Rockstars ~ Take part in our England Rocks! TTRS competition which runs from the
8th - 11th of November. Every correct answer adds to our class score. It is open between 7:30am and 7:30pm on each day.

Bug Club ~ Willow Class all have new log-in details which have been given out. I have allocated everyone in class a 'book band'. As your child works their way through the books, they will automatically move through the bands when ready. As they read each book, they must complete all of the 'bug challenges'.

 TOP TIPS FOR HOMEWORK...
~ Little and often...and not last minute! Give yourself enough time to complete homework tasks. Why not get as much done through the week so you can have the weekend off : )
~ Be comfortable...make sure you work in a comfortable space, perhaps with a drink and snack.
~ Have little screen breaks to keep your eyes healthy and happy!

If for any reason, on any week, you have any issues with homework, please just let me know. Children have been sent home with all passwords they will need for now. Please keep them all in a safe place.
