Autumn 1 - All about me, The Three Little Pigs, Autumn
Welcome to Cherry class blog hope you enjoy sharing the pictures with your child/children.
We began Autumn term learning all about us. We made paper plate faces of ourselves and we had to think about where the eyes, hair, ears, nose and mouth are. The children used the mirrors and the iPad to look at themselves to see what colour hair and eyes they have.
Thank you for the homework responses(all about me questionnaire)......very appreciated
The children learnt all about their feelings through song and dance.
Later in the term the children enjoyed learning about The Three Little Pigs. The children collected small sticks on the field to build houses. Whilst building, we discussed the size of the sticks, we compared length of the sticks and width too.
As well as this, the children really enjoyed re-telling the story and using props to act it out. I thought it was fantastic.
Whilst learning about Autumn the children had fun going on an Autumn hunt on the field. We talked about why there were leaves on the ground and where they came from. We also looked at the colours of all the leaves and the children collected them to make their own leaf prints. They looked closely at the details of the leaves and described the veins as bones.
We hope you have enjoyed the first blog of the term, have a lovely holiday and we will see you in our lovely refurbished classroom, Claire.
