Christmas Animation - The Snowman

Merry Christmas! As we haven't been able to have you join us and enjoy seeing us perform our usual pantomime, we took the opportunity to see what else we could do to celebrate Christmas and the holidays; being inspired by classic Christmas films.

Chestnut Class enjoyed watching The Snowman and - in groups - worked together to produce artwork from the film, specifically the snowman's flight and Aled Jones' 'Walking in the Air'. We then used stop-motion technology to create our very own moving pictures and learned the words to the song, overlaying our singing onto the video.

You will probably notice that the penguins proved incredibly popular. So much so that the children insisted that they appeared in any scene where there was land for them to walk on... including the North Pole. I can only assume they were holidaying in the far, far north to visit Father Christmas.

We hope you enjoy our Christmas project, and that you have a merry Christmas and happy New Year!
