Corona Virus Closure-Week 10 (15.6.20)

Sycamore Class Weekly Blog – Week 10

Another fantastic week of work Sycamore class! Well done to Anya who is top of our leaderboard on Spellingframe. Who is going to knock her of the top spot this week. Remember the more you practise and play the games the more points you earn- all while improving your spelling skills.

It is getting harder and harder to pick a ‘Star of the Week’. This week it has been awarded to William for your consistent fantastic work every week.

This week’s learning

Like the last 2 weeks you have your Reading Plus and Spelling Frame. In our writing task this week you are going to use the planning you completed as part of the last lesson to write a diary entry, pretending to be William. Don’t forget to look at the success criteria on the PowerPoint. We are then moving onto Reading Chapter 2 of Goodnight Mister Tom. In maths, as in previous weeks you have TTRS, arithmetic and Big Maths. Then we are moving on from fractions to explore the relationship between fractions, decimals and percentages. This week we are going to explore what rationing was during WW2.

Work to submit this week:

This week I would like you to submit a copy of your diary entry as an evacuee and a copy of your Big Maths.

Don’t forget if you have any questions to drop me a message or why not make a post on our Google classroom so your classmates can help too.

This week we are going to be learning about rationing during WW2. Start by reading the reading comprehension and answering the matching questions. Then work your way through the PowerPoint. Now you have an understanding of what food people had during that time, your task is to design a weekly meal planner.

As always I am only an email away.

Stay safe and keep smiling
