Phew….. what a day!
After a VERY early wake up call (6:30am), we set off for a jam-packed day in York. First stop was the minster for a quick self-led tour and treasure hunt task. After that, we met up with two characters from the York Dungeon, who took us on a walking tour of York city centre. We were told several gruesome stories about life in York centuries ago, most of which contained gory details about blood and guts!
After lunch, it was on to the York Dungeon. We were all very brave and conquered our fears and made it out alive! (Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take pictures in the dungeon). There was no time to recover after our scary ordeal as it was straight on to the Jorvik Viking Centre. In groups we made our way round the attraction in small moving capsules and learned all about what life was like in York during the Viking times. To round off our hectic day, we took a relaxing boat trip up the River Ouse, where got to see York from a different perspective.
I bet we all sleep well tonight!
