Day 6 - Monday 11th January 2021

Monday 11th January 2021

Hello Chestnut Class and welcome to a new week of home learning. I hope that you are all well and managing to stay safe. This week, I am going to start moving your home learning tasks over to Google Classroom. To start with, English tasks and a daily maths challenge will be found on Google Classroom. The rest of your home learning tasks will be on the school website. Remember to access Google Classroom, you need to log onto School 360 and then click on Classroom.

I am working from home this week, so please if you have any questions or queries, please get in touch!

Miss M :)

English
  • Reading activity - please log onto Google Classroom for your instructions and task
  • Spelling Frame - access Spelling Frame and complete at least 2 activities and a practice test
  • Bug Club - log on and read 2 chapters of a book you have been assigned
Maths

  • Problem of the Day - instructions and activity on Google Classroom
  • Access TTRS and take part in the Girls vs Boys Chestnut competition
Today we are going to recap our time work so far. I would like you to create a game of 'snap' or 'pairs' using your time knowledge. You will need some paper cut into approximately 20 to 30 small rectangles (get an adult to help you) and a pencil or pen.

Your first step is to grab two of your small rectangles. On one card write the time in words and on the other draw the time on a clock - they will form your first matching pair. Continue drawing and writing until you have filled up all of the cards. Then you need to mix up the cards and spread them drawing / writing side down on a table. You are then ready to play 'pairs' or 'snap'!

Keeping Active

It's important that you keep your mind and body active during our school closure so we have created a super 'PE Blockbusters Challenge' which will allow you to choose a different exercise to complete each day. This can also be found in Google Classroom. Enjoy

 Art

This week you have an art project to get stuck into. This can be found under the 'Art Project Days 6- 10' tab. I'd love to see what you create!
