Head Teacher's Blog 10th February 2020

10th February 2020

Well this half term has gone by in a flash - time flies when we’re having fun!

It is national Safer Internet Day on Tuesday and we will be reminding children how to stay safe online during two special assemblies. We have been notified of several worrying incidents due to inadequate parental controls. Please follow the guidance on the school website and if you need further advice speak to Mr Johnson.

Still on the safeguarding theme can everyone remember to close the gates after themselves when leaving the site particularly at the end of the school day.

Other dates to remember this week are:

  • Apple (morning children) Family Lunch on Wednesday at 11:10am
  • The Festival of Light - Year 6 representatives are going to St Michael’s School on Thursday to find out more about World Faiths.
  • Year 4 Ford Meeting – 3:15pm on Thursday
  • Valentine Discos – Thursday 13th February. Early Years to year 3 is 5pm -6pm, Years 4, 5 and 6 is 6:15pm – 7:30pm

Unsurprisingly, due to the time of year and several nasty infections, the attendance last week was 95.6% which is slightly below the school target of 96%. Ash Class achieved 96.6% attendance – well done!

We break up on Thursday evening due to staff training on Friday.

Enjoy half term next week and we’ll see everyone back at school on Monday 24th February.
