Today we spotted a Heron flying over the school, we talked about where a Heron is usually seen.
We have been leaning about mini-beasts. The children have learnt lots of interesting facts about, Frogs, butterflies and worms.
Today pictures of Frogs, Butterflies and Worms were hidden all over the Forest School site.
The children had to run around and find all the pictures.
We went too check our School pond.
We didn't see any frogs but we did see movement in the water.
We did a pond dip and looked through a magnifying sheet to see what was living in the pond.
There was no sign of frogspawn yet, but we are going to check the pond each week.
We looked in the mini-beast hotel to see what we could see.
The School has an information sign next to the pond, the children found the facts very interesting.
The children couldn't believe that a frog could jump 20 times its body length! We did an experiment to see how far 20 times a body length was.
It started to rain, so the children got busy making a shelter.
There was some great teamwork.
The view from the shelter.
"I'm off for a drive in my van".
The boys wanted some mud for the mud kitchen.
The children are very happy with the new water butt.
We always put water out for the birds in the fairy garden.
These were the children's faces when I told them they needed to taste the mud pie soup! I was joking of course.
A perfect mud ball apparently!
