Head Teacher's Blog 07.03.22

6th March 2022

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day, thanks to all for your great efforts - we had some fabulous costumes and children all enjoyed talking about their characters and sharing stories together.

It was fabulous to get back to assemblies this week, the children were introduced to character education and the idea that everybody needs to be Caring, Courageous and Curious (our 3 Cs!). We will now be having achievement assemblies in school so children will bring their certificates home.

Parent consultations for Pear, Ash, Chestnut, Larch are scheduled for this week, please book your appointment and the teachers will give you a phone call during your requested time slot.

Attendance is once again in the spotlight and we will be working with the EWO to ensure that all children are attending school regularly and on time. Last week the whole school attendance was at 93% with Beech class managing an amazing 100% - well done!

It has been an upsetting week as we watch what is happening in Ukraine. We have been watching Newsround with the older children, some of whom have expressed an interest in raising money for Ukraine and this will be explored next week. In the meantime families can drop off donations of personal hygiene products, medical supplies, small toys for children, instant and canned foods, sleeping bags and blankets at the Northumberland Hall, weekdays, 10am-6pm. This week seems a good time to introduce the children to a very famous song that is often played at times when there is upset and trouble in our world and people are looking for peace - Imagine By John Lennon. Enjoy.

Congratulations to our stars of the week who have impressed us this week. They are Darcy H,

Annabelle C, Charlie B, Ruby H, Georgia S, Rebecca T, Seb M, Dan B, Jessie M, William H and Aretas G.

We are looking forward to another enjoyable and hard working week .

Bye for now
