Head Teacher's Blog 11th February 2019

11th February 2019

Well this half term has gone by in a flash - time flies when we’re having fun!

Congratulations to Maria Luisa Avila Jimenez who has been elected unopposed as the new parent governor, we have also co-opted Claire Mead, a youth worker for Contagious and Hilda Blythe, a former Head Teacher.

Due to staff training on Thursday evening the year 6 master class will take place on Wednesday after school and netball will be cancelled and rescheduled on Wednesday 27th February.

Unsurprisingly the attendance last week was 95.5% which is slightly below the school target of 96% as there have been two horrible and contagious infections going around. Oak Class achieved 100% attendance – well done!

After half term we are admitting a child with a severe nut allergy and therefore we will be a nut free school. We hope to send a revised packed lunch leaflet out before half term - it is really important to make sure that no nut products including peanut butter and chocolate spread are put in packed lunches.

Other dates to remember this week are:

  • Apple Family Lunch on Wednesday at 11:10am
  • Chestnut Class Assembly – Thursday 2:30pm

Enjoy half term next week and we’ll see everyone back at school on Monday 25th February.
