HOME LEARNING IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Hello everybody,

Welcome back to our 'Home Learning' pages following the Easter break. I hope you were able to make the most of the time you are sharing as families and had fun taking part in the Swansfield Easter Competition!

This new way of teaching and learning continues to take a while to get used to, especially when some of you as parents will continue to be out working, working from home, have much younger children or babies to keep entertained and perhaps looking after someone elderly or disabled who is dependent on you. On top of all that, I know that some of you as parents have noticed that your children are finding it trickier to focus on school work at home. It may take a little while for your children to settle as this is such an unexpected and unusual situation and it is still important to get a balance of school work as well as doing other activities and taking time to switch off. As a school, we are well aware of the importance of physical, social and emotional well-being as well as the importance of our children continuing to consolidate their learned knowledge and skills as well as learn new skills along the way. From this week on, I will be setting 5 English tasks and 5 maths tasks as well as a task which may be related to science, history, geography, art etc. Some of these will be tasks you are already familiar with, for example spellings, Times Tables Rockstars, completing Big Maths sheets etc, but on the whole, there will be more on each learning page for the children to get their teeth into and to help keep their brains ticking and minds occupied! Since we began home learning, it has been great to see the work which children have been doing and I hope they have enjoyed hearing some feedback from me, either by email or on Frog Play. On set tasks such as Numbots, Timestables Rockstars and Frog Play, I am able to see who has been accessing activities. However, with other set activities I am not able to see the wonderful work the children have been doing unless it is emailed to me. So that we can make sure children are accessing the other set activities, we ask that you email 2 activities each week.On every learning page I will let you know which tasks I would like you to email.I can then give the children feedback on their work as well as allocate School 360 points and certificates. I will also add work to our Weekly Willow Class Photo Gallery.
We fully appreciate times are difficult and as we all know, keeping well, safe, positive and as happy as we can remains the top priority. With all this in mind, we thank you for your support and if you have any questions, queries or concerns please email me:
