Home Learning Friday 11th June

Hello there, sorry there are no photos this week.  I have found myself with an unexpected day working from home.  I promise there will be lots of pictures next week to make up for it!

It may have been a shortened week but we've packed in plenty!

In our numberwork, we've been learning what it means to double.  Why not ask us about this?  We have doubled with numbers up to double 5.  Maybe you could use fingers, blocks or other toys to practise doubling over the weekend.  It's so helpful for the children to know doubles up to double 5 off by heart.  This can then help with addition fluency in Year 1 and beyond.

We thought about our families this week and created our own family trees.
As well as finding out about the people in our houses, we talked about when our parents were younger.  Who did they live with then?  Did they have any brothers or sisters?  Maybe you could chat about this at the weekend.

In our PE sessions we practised for our sports day Olympics.  Not only did we have some really fun running races, we also got the hurdles out and had a go at running and jumping with these. That was lots of fun.  Maybe you could set up some races in your garden if the weather stays nice at the weekend.

later in the week we talked about things that make us happy.  We linked this with colour and had some great discussions.  The children designed their stones for our rock art project and began to paint.  We would still welcome stones in to school next week as this was such fun we are keen to do more!

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!
