Day 1 ~ Monday 1st of February

Monday 1st of February 2021

Hello Willow Class, I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and a well-deserved rest!  Welcome to a new week of activities. Last week was our first full week of using Google Classroom for our home learning and it appears to have proved extremely popular. Hopefully, the children will feel more connected with myself and friends and be more independent and engaged in their learning. The lack of printing seems to get the thumbs up! I fully appreciate that you are all spinning lots of plates -  work, caring for people, your normal day to day lives and on top of that, home learning. By no means should you feel pressure to stick rigidly to a timetable of learning. It is important that we engage with the home learning but that we are flexible, get fresh air and daily exercise and be kind to ourselves! There are many activities that children can access independently such as Bug Club, Busy Things, Spelling Frame and Times Tables Rockstars.

This week is Children's Mental Health Week. Everyone's mental health and well-being is always at the forefront of our day to day lives, however this week we have a particular focus on it. There is a wealth of resources and activities on this week's home learning pages which you will be able to read through and use this week and beyond. It would be really useful if you take the time to read Monday's Mental Health & Well-Being page with your child as it will be a good conversation starter. It also gives a more detailed insight into the week's focus. However, the resources aren't going anywhere and if it is accessed later in the week, that is absolutely fine!

Star of the week ~ Our Star of the Week is Tilly Ostle for her interesting and well presented environmental issues powerpoint and ongoing engagement with home learning. Well done Tilly!
