Homework Overview Due 5.10.20

Homework – Week Commencing 28/09/20

As discussed in class, your homework tasks this week include:

  • Spellings (Spelling Frame)

  • Times Tables (Times Table Rockstars)

  • Online Grammar Task (Google Classroom)

  • Reading Plus (* Please note this has now been set-up for all children in UKS2)

Please see details below for further information:

Spellings

Your spelling words have been set on Spelling Frame.  Log into www.spellingframe.co.uk, where you will find a selection of games, word searches and other activities to help you learn your new spellings. It is important that you practise your spellings several times online each week and also complete at least two online tests. We will then be having a spelling test in class on Monday 5th October.

Reading Plus

As we are currently unable to send guided reading books and reading records home, all of you have now been allocated a Reading Plus account. Following our introductory session in class today, we would like you to access Reading Plus at home as part of you weekly homework tasks. Please log into www.student.readingplus.com and complete at least two online reading sessions at home per week. This is a fabulous programme that will really help to improve your reading speed, comprehension skills and knowledge of vocabulary.

Maths – Times Table Rockstars

You have all done a fabulous job over the last couple of weeks with the different ‘Battle of the Band’ competitions, well done! This week we would like you to log into www.ttrockstars.com, choose a game mode of your choice (Gig, Garage...) and enjoy completing the games whilst earning a minimum of 50 points. Next week, ‘The Battles’ will commence once again... Who will you be competing against this time?!?

Grammar – Google Classroom

In our recent Grammar lessons, we have been learning how to spot if a conjunction is subordinating or co-coordinating. To secure your understanding, we have uploaded an interactive quiz for you to work through on Google Classroom. Each question contains a tick for you to move, to show the correct answer.

To access the Grammar task, login to Google Classroom, select ‘Classwork’ and then ‘Grammar Homework – WC 28.09.20’. Remember to open the task using ‘Google Slides’.

As we continue to try and reduce the number of items coming into our classrooms, we would then like you to share your Grammar task answers with your class teacher electronically. To do this select 'Turn in' located in the top right corner of your 'Classwork' page. This will automatically send your work to your teacher.

All homework tasks need to be completed by Monday 5th October. If you have any questions or queries, we are always here to help, please just get in touch.
