Head Teacher's Blog 17.01.22

17th January 2022

As we go around school it is pleasing to see that most of the children are very settled with a focus on learning; support is in place for those who are finding things a little tricky as a consequence of the pandemic. Following several COVID cases in school we have introduced further precautionary measures in Larch class in an attempt to contain the infection. In line with government guidelines, please book a PCR if your child is symptomatic and do not rely on the results from a LFD test.

Once again, for health and safety reasons, can we remind you to remove jewellery particularly earrings before children come into school

It is very pleasing to see children trying new tastes and enjoying their dinners. The favourite this week was chicken stew and dumplings followed by delicious sticky toffee pudding and custard - just the job for a cold winter’s day.

As you may already know there is an additional bank holiday in June awarded to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. As the official day falls in the June half term holiday we can set an alternative date, we have worked alongside our colleagues in the high school to support families with children in both schools and chosen Monday 27th June.

In other celebratory news, Sunday 16th January is World Religion Day. We’ll be marking this celebration across school this week with each class finding out a little bit more about a world religion. We look forward to sharing our findings with you in next week’s blog. In the spirit of World Religion Day, our music for this week is Govinda - a song which is based on a devotional prayer to Lord Krishna. Within the Hindu faith, Lord Krishna is the God of love, tenderness and compassion.

Well done to our weekly stars, they are Elsie P-B, Bradley S, Adam Mc, Holly Sl, Jasper P, Archie E, Tegan N, James L, Reuben H, Lexie S, Catherine M and Aretas G

An electronic certificate will be winging its way to you.

Bye for now
