Monday 5th October- Monday 12th October

Hello and welcome to another week of Maple homework. Guided reading has taken place in class and it has been lovely to listen to the children read. Please also encourage your child to read at home as much as possible. Homework tasks this week are: spellings (Spelling Frame), maths and a TTRS battle against Rowan class. Last week we had a lovely afternoon drawing Autumn leaves in our sketch pads.  This week we are going to be sampling some foods to see if we can identify which are sweet and which are savoury.  This is in preparation for writing a savoury muffin recipe.

Spellings
Your new spellings have been set on Spelling Frame. Please complete two practice tests before the real one in class on Monday 12th October and also have fun practising them using the different games- I'm interested to know your favourite.  Well done to all of you who are already enjoying using this site-if you haven't logged in at home yet please do so. Any problems let me  know.

Maths task
For this week's  Maths task I have set a couple of quizzes on Busy Things to help reinforce our learning on the Place Value of numbers.  Busy Things can be accessed by logging on to School 360 and clicking onto Resources. Then select Busy Things and the tasks are found in 'My Busy Things' - 'Maple Class' - 'Assignments' -(we will have a run through this in our computing session on Tuesday to remind ourselves). There is one quiz on  Rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100 and another on numbers up to 1,000. Once complete submit your quizzes for me to see.

Times Table Rockstars

Hot on the heels of our victory over Sycamore class last month this week we have a Maple Vs Rowan Battle of the Bands competition! Please log into www.ttrockstars.com with the username and password you were provided.  We need each and every one of you to logon and help Maple class to be crowned the champions again! The competition will run until Monday 12th October at 08:45. If you haven't logged onto TRRS at home yet please do and help your classmates!

Good luck everyone!

Please get in touch if you have any issues!
