Welcome to Sycamore Class
Welcome to Sycamore Class!
We hope that you are all safe and well and looking forward to joining us in September. Your return to school will be a little different this year, but I’m sure that we’ll still have lots of fun and make many lasting memories!
This page will hopefully give you some of the information you need for joining Sycamore Class in September.
School day: 08:45 – 15:00 (Please arrive promptly)
You can arrive and leave the school site as a disclaimer if the school office has a signed disclaimer form, but you must have this form handed in to the office to be allowed to do so; otherwise you will need to be dropped off and collected. Please make sure that you continue to follow social distancing rules and do not mix with children from other bubbles in order to prevent social mixing. Only one adult should bring and collect from school and they should be in the same social bubble as the child, not a friend or a child minder as this reduces the effectiveness of our bubbles.
School access: via the Park Gate and in through the classroom patio doors.
Equipment: we have stationary packs ready and waiting for each and every one of you. So please leave any pencil cases and other equipment at home. You will need to bring a named water bottle to school each day along with a pair of outdoor shoes and a sunhat. We will not be able to supply cups in the classroom, so please ensure you have your water bottle every day.
PE kits: our first PE session will be on Tuesday the 8th September with Newcastle Academy, but please do not bring in your PE kit before then. Instead, on the days that we have PE (Tuesday) please come to school wearing your PE kit rather than your school uniform. If it is cold, you can wear a pear of joggers over your purple shorts. You will be wearing your PE kit for the whole day rather than getting changed.
Homework and spellings: we will continue to use our class page on the school website to inform you of your weekly homework and spelling tasks. Homework overviews will be uploaded on a Monday and you will have until the following Monday to complete the work. As well as homework and spellings, we will continue to communicate with our families using our class page and upload photographs of the exciting activities, experiences and work that we are doing in school so please keep a lookout.
Mrs Sutherland and I are really looking forward to seeing you all in September and we have lots of exciting things to tell you about!
If you have any questions or queries in the meantime, please just get in touch using the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Take care everyone :)
