Head Teacher's Blog 21.09.20

21st September 2020

What a difference a year makes! I have just looked backed to see mention of the Pearl of Africa Concert, happy memories…

The highlight of last week had to be the visits from two of our canine friends; Luna the Yorkshire Terrier came to see Chestnut class on Monday and on Friday afternoon Billy the ShihTzu met children in Beech, Maple and Sycamore classes.

Although it seems very early in the year the High School application process is underway. The Duchess’s School brochure is available on their website and the County admissions portal is open – deadline for applications is 31st October 2020. Please bear in mind that every year several children don’t get allocated a place as parents haven’t applied and we end up in a panic in March!

Once again we find ourselves living under restrictions, I trust that all families will comply with the new regulations in order to keep everyone in our community safe and well. We expect that our older children with disclaimers will act responsibly by keeping socially distanced while going straight to and from school.

Please remember to send your child to school in their PE kits on their PE days and also use email to drop messages to class teachers if necessary.

Well done to our weekly stars, they are Amy Davidson, Ruby Hetherington, Jack McGowan, Finnley Reid, Alice Wooldridge, Amelie Jackson, Jessie Ha, Isaac Buddles, Riley Wightman, Evie Pagett, Anya Campbell and Freya Goodfellow. An electronic certificate will be winging its way to you.
