Week 11th May Blog

Hello All

Thank you to everyone for all your fab contributions last week, you guys are doing an amazing at home schooling. I am really impressed.

This week the weather is turning a bit soggy, windy and rainy so I thought we would do a bit about the weather. I know Cherries love seeing what the weather is like in the morning when we use our good morning board.

Monday: Make a rain sock - this can be done with tubes, cotton wool, string, paint, crayons, paper or card. Choose a lovely spot in your house to hang it and let your child take a picture ready to send to Claire.

Tuesday: Make a wind streamer - you can add anything you like to your wind streamer - string, ribbon, thread, coloured paper. Look out for that windy weather to test it out.

Wednesday: Another windy activity - make your own kite, again get crafty and see what you can come up with.

Thursday: Make your own rainy picture, here is an example to give you an idea.

Art Lessons: Painting Rain | Right from the Start

Friday: Create your own bubbles outside using soap and different shapes, try anything around the house you might think will work. You could add some mud and have your own muddy puddle party! - don't forget your wellies!

Skills from these activities to support:
  • New language
  • Cutting skills holding scissors correctly- two fingers and thumb
  • Holding mark making tools correctly - two fingers and a thumb - pincer grasp.
  • Encourage your child to explore, be imaginative, be creative, use senses, talk - endless.

I will attach the link of the Learning Together at Home week 8 - this will cover your child's communication, language and literacy skills. Enjoy!
