Week 2- wb 17.1.22

Time for your second numicon challenge!

This week lets warm up by putting numicon pieces 1-5 in a bag. Put your hand inside (but no peeking), have a feel, can you guess which number it is? What shape is it? How many holes does it have? If this is easy, try numbers 6-10.

Now lets work on our number bonds.

RECEPTION- Can you use the numicon pieces to work out all of the different ways to make 5? Try joining 1 and 4, does this equal 5. You could find out by placing numbers 1 and 4 on top of the number 5. Now list all of the different ways to make 5 by writing out the number sentences e.g. 1+4=5, 2+3=5 etc.

Year 1- Can you use the numicon pieces to work out all of the different ways to make 10? Try joining 1 and 9, does this equal 10. You could find out by placing numbers 1 and 9 on top of the number 10. Now list all of the different ways to make 10 by writing out the number sentences e.g. 1+9=10, 2+8=10 etc.

Have fun and don't forget to send me your pictures!
