Week 2 (30.03.20)

Hello Maple Class!

I hope everyone is keeping well and that cabin fever hasn't set in! Thank you to all of those who have shared or emailed their work on Alfred the Great, I was impressed by the amount of research that you put into it, and those who have completed their sessions on Times Table Rockstars and quizzes on Frog. This week you will have some fun science experiments that can be done in the home with household items.

Maths
As well as continuing to work on your times tables (a new set of 10 sessions has been set up), White Rose Hub - the scheme which we follow in school - are posting lessons to follow at home. Please go to their website and follow along with the appropriate year group and learning objectives. Additionally, please  complete two pages of your Schofield & Sims book.

I have uploaded a mat for you to download and use if you find that you are struggling with any particular times table. By all means, use it when working on your Times Table Rockstar sessions if you feel that you want to.

Art
Spending time with a pencil drawing is a great way to hone fine motor skills, as is sewing, painting or crochet. If you don't have any of these materials handy, or are stuck for inspiration, you can go on online tours of different art galleries here.

Computing
Naturally as we are spending more time at home to help in the fight against the Corona Virus, we will probably be spending more time online so now is a good time to remember how to stay safe online. This website has lots of games and activities to help reinforce this message.

Science
This website has lots of fun science experiments that you can do at home with everyday household items. Have a look and choose one (or more if you want!) that looks exciting to you or that your adults have spare things for. Hypothesize what the results might be and then test your prediction. Did the results match what you thought would happen? Why? Why not?

Any work that you complete and want to share, please remember to do so at craig.warburton@school360.co.uk.

Thank you!
