Weekly Blog & Homework ~ 14.11.22

Blog & Homework for week beginning 14.11.22

Dear parents and carers,

I hope you all had a happy and healthy weekend. Our Alnwick library visit went very well last week. Miss Langman and Miss Olivier who led the visit were very impressed with the children's manners and listening skills and the children seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Well done Willow Class and maybe you will pay a visit there again soon.
This week, brings us Children in Need as well as the Christmas Light Switch-On, tied in with our Christmas Fair - what a week! We look forward to everyone enjoying these events and getting into a community Christmas spirit.
For those children in choir, I have added lyrics and tracks to Google Classroom for you to practise in time for the fair.

CELEBRATIONS

Our Star of the Week certificate goes to Evie Holland for settling in so well to Willow Class. It's great to have you Evie!

If you haven't already, please can you send in a pair of named wellies for your child as we will be outside in all weathers. Thank you.

Homework Overview

Google Classroom ~ See this week's instructions on Goggle Classroom for your two week Roman project which is due in on Monday the 21st of November. Also see lyrics and tracks for those in choir.

Spellings ~ Spelling Frame - access Spelling Frame and complete at least 2 activities and a practice test.

Times Tables Rockstars ~ Jump on to TTRS to have fun building fluency with your times table calculations. This week it is another tournament for boys versus girls. Let's see if both teams can get over 100 points this time - you can do it!

Reading ~ Your child has a Guided Reading Book. Please ensure you read with your child as well as encouraging independent reading and leave a comment in the reading record to let us know how they are progressing. Your child can write comments too.

 TOP TIPS FOR HOMEWORK...
~ Little and often...and not last minute! Give yourself enough time to complete homework tasks. Why not get as much done through the week so you can have the weekend off : )
~ Be comfortable...make sure you work in a comfortable space, perhaps with a drink and snack.
~ Have little screen breaks to keep your eyes healthy and happy!

If for any reason, on any week, you have any issues with homework, please just let me know.
