Weekly Blog & Homework ~ 31.10.22

Blog & Homework for week beginning 31.10.22

Dear parents and carers,

I hope you all had a happy and healthy half term.
This first week back is a busy one with parent consultations on Thursday for Willow Class. It will be a great opportunity for you to look at all the fantastic work your children have done so far this year. Equally, it will be lovely to speak face to face. I look forward to seeing you all. Willow Class SEND meetings will also take place this week. If you have a SEND meeting appointment time, could you please phone the school office to confirm you can attend if you haven't already. Many thanks.

CELEBRATIONS

Our Star of the Week certificate goes to Daisy Oliver for a detailed and very creative Day of the Dead mask. Well done Daisy!

P.E

PE for this term will take place on a Tuesday and Friday. Children should come to school wearing purple shorts or plain black joggers or leggings, their white PE t-shirt, purple school jumper or hoodie and trainers. Please make sure that your child also has a named water bottle in school.

Wellies ~
If you haven't already, please can you send in a pair of named wellies for your child as we will be outside in all weathers. Thank you.

Homework Overview

Google Classroom ~ See this week's instructions for Grammar and Punctuation.

Spellings ~ Spelling Frame - access Spelling Frame and complete at least 2 activities and a practice test.

Times Tables Rockstars ~ Jump on to TTRS to have fun building fluency with your times table calculations.

Reading ~ Your child has a Guided Reading Book. Please ensure you read with your child as well as encouraging independent reading and leave a comment in the reading record to let us know how they are progressing. Your child can write comments too.

 TOP TIPS FOR HOMEWORK...
~ Little and often...and not last minute! Give yourself enough time to complete homework tasks. Why not get as much done through the week so you can have the weekend off : )
~ Be comfortable...make sure you work in a comfortable space, perhaps with a drink and snack.
~ Have little screen breaks to keep your eyes healthy and happy!

If for any reason, on any week, you have any issues with homework, please just let me know.
