Weekly Blog, Homework & Spellings ~ 21.3.22

Blog & Homework for week commencing 21.3.22

Hello everyone,
It is great to be back in the classroom this week! A big thank you to Miss Langman and Sheila who held the fort whilst Mrs Sapor and I have been off. What would we do without team effort? Hopefully we will see a few more faces appearing back in class this week, but in the meantime, if you are at home and you are well enough to work then home learning on Google Classroom will continue to be given. This is not essential but is there for those who can. The main thing is that everyone is recovering and not too unwell. Fingers crossed we will be swimming this week but you will be notified as soon as possible.
We will be celebrating Shakespeare this week through some exciting drama activities and video clips. There are some fantastic resources on the BBC website. If you follow the link below, you will find them:
As with Science week, where photos have been shared of the fantastic( and very energetic) activities that were done, we will share our drama work with you on our class page.
I hear the cake stalls were a great success so I hope you enjoyed eating your purchases and I can't wait to hear how much money was raised for such a devastating but worthy cause.

We have Parent Consultations this week so I look forward to having a chat and reporting on your child's progress with those who have signed up for meetings on Thursday.

Fingers crossed for a healthy week!

CELEBRATIONS
Our Star of the Week certificate goes to Nicola Welch for working so hard last week. Great effort Nicola and keep up the good work!

** Confirmation to be given
Our swimming session takes place on Tuesday. Children should bring a bag with their costume and towel. They can bring goggles, a swimming hat and a brush if they wish.

PE will continue on a Friday morning so please send your child in a PE kit as usual on this day.

In line with our Covid-19 Risk Assessment, we are asking children to come into school in their outdoor PE kit on the day of their PE lesson. Children should wear black joggers or leggings or as the weather gets warmer, children may wish to wear their purple shorts, their white PE t-shirt, purple school jumper and trainers. Please make sure that your child also has a named water bottle in school.

Homework Overview

Google Classroom ~ Please go to Spring Term (2) on Willow Classroom. Last week's homework is rolled over as we had many absences. Hand this homework in for Monday 28th of March.
Next week, we will be taking part in our Sumdog Competition. Passswords were given out to all children so get them ready so you can take part : )

Spellings ~ Go to Spelling Frame for this week's spellings. Complete at least 2 games and a test. Spellings will be tested on a Monday morning. Some spelling lists will be repeated where scores need improved and lists from previous year groups will be set where there is a need.

Times Tables Rockstars ~ Jump on to TTRS to build up fluency on your times tables.

Reading ~ Please take time to read your Guided Reading Books. Record what you have read in your record and please bring these books back into school each day. It's great to see that Bug Club is still being used.

 TOP TIPS FOR HOMEWORK...
~ Little and often...and not last minute! Give yourself enough time to complete homework tasks. Why not get as much done through the week so you can have the weekend off : )
~ Be comfortable...make sure you work in a comfortable space, perhaps with a drink and snack.
~ Have little screen breaks to keep your eyes healthy and happy!

If for any reason, on any week, you have any issues with homework, please just let me know. Children have been sent home with all passwords they will need for now. Please keep them all in a safe place.

I think that's all for now. If you have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on:
