Blog & Homework for week commencing 10th of May

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this week's blog and homework overview and I hope everyone is well. Although the weather has been very unpredictable this week, it hasn't stopped Willow Class getting outdoors for fresh air at playtimes and P.E. The children continue to enjoy their athletic sessions with our coach - Lee, even when it does start to hail stone! Group 2 enjoyed their music session with Annelise on Wednesday and on Thursday afternoon we took a walk around our school field to look at the healthy plants we could see, before giving written explanations of what plants need to grow and be healthy. This week's homework on Google Classroom ties in with our science work so far.

CELEBRATIONS
Our Star of the Week certificate goes to Hallie Welsh for her well sequenced hop, skips and jumps in athletics. You have shown great improvement Hallie - well done and keep up the good work!

P.E
This half term, P.E will continue on a Thursday. In line with our Covid-19 Risk Assessment, we are asking children to come into school in their outdoor PE kit on the day of their PE lesson. Children should wear grey / black joggers or leggings or as the weather gets warmer, children may wish to wear their purple shorts, their white PE t-shirt, purple school jumper and trainers. Please make sure that your child also has a named water bottle in school.

** Wellies ~ The bags I have been giving the children for their wellies have not been lasting long! If you could give your child a carrier bag for them to pop their wellies into so they can hang them on their pegs that would be much appreciated. The trunk outside is better kept for spare wellies.

Homework Overview

Google Classroom ~ Plants Fact File. Go to Google Classroom and look in 'Summer Term (1) Willow Homework' for your task instructions. This is due to me by the 17th of May.

Spellings ~ Spelling Frame - access Spelling Frame and complete at least 2 activities and a practice test.

Times Tables Rockstars ~ Make sure you go onto Times Tables Rockstars to practise your times tables.

Bug Club ~ Jump on to Bug Club to enjoy reading your books. I have allocated book bands so you have plenty of books to read. You will automatically go on to the next band once you have read all the books in your current one. Please make sure all of the reading tasks in each book have been completed and that finished books are in your library.
