To kick off our geography lessons this year, we began with a fieldwork lesson, where we designed outdoor "messy maps" using natural materials gathered from the school grounds. We began by recording a route around the site and documenting key physical and human features. Next, we translated our field data into creative maps, using items like bark, pebbles, and foliage to represent our routes and geographical observations.
