RWI Miss Freeman

Your child will be supported daily by Miss Freeman. Their main focus will be to recap and consolidate set one sounds. They will practise any sounds they are struggling with daily through short, engaging, daily sessions. The children will have opportunity to practise saying the sound and then writing it.

The set one sounds that they will revisit are: m,a,s,d,t,i,n,p,g,o,c,k,u,b,f.e,l,h,r,j,v,y,w,z,x

Once these sounds are consolidated, they will learn qu, sh, ch, th, ng, nk

As well as learning to read set one sounds, they will continue to blend short two letter and three letter words. For example, c-a-t is cat.

You can support your child at home by:
-recapping set one sounds
-playing eye spy with these letter sounds
-supporting your child to write these letter sounds
- helping your child blend 2/3 letter sounds to read words
