Pupil Premium

PUPIL PREMIUM

The Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include pupils who are entitled to free school meals; those looked after by the local authority and children of armed services personnel.

All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received and how this is being used. Once information is available, the impact of the funding will also be reported.

Some of the strategies funded are:

  • To provide short-term intervention programmes for underachieving pupils
  •  To provide one-to-one tuition and mentoring for some pupils.
  •  Financial Assistance for pupils attending residential and educational trips.

For detailed information of annual expenditure and the impact of these strategies please refer to the attached documents.
