Snow - 13.02.23

As the cold weather continues we have been investigating animals that live in cold climates. We have read stories and recreated wintery scenes with our loose parts and junk modelling.
Then it happened - SNOW!
Enough snow to play with so we grabbed the sledges and were out on the field all evening slipping and sliding up the hill and around the yard. It was only for one night but we had so much fun.
We also used this cold snap to explore something that has been interesting the older children for some time - how do you freeze a bubble? We have discovered that the air temperature isn't cold enough to freeze a bubble outright but after a lot of experimentation (outside in the dark with our gloves on) we have discovered you can freeze small bubbles blown directly onto a block of ice!
