Weekly Blog & Homework ~ 30.1.23

Blog & Homework for week beginning 30.1.23

Dear parents and carers,
I hope this week's blog finds you well and having had a good weekend. Last term LKS2 children worked on designing and making their own Roman Bulla as part of our Textiles unit. The children have done a great job at sewing their bullas using back stitch as well as adding some of their own personalised detail. As we need to move on to insect houses as part of our Spring Term project, we will complete as much of our Roman bullas in school time then send the 'as finished as it can be' product home with your child. If anything needs finished off at home, it is most likely to be the drawstring. This can be anything as simple as a piece of wool or string which should be woven in and out of the holes at the top of the pouch. Your child doesn't need to bring this back into school and only needs to finish it off should they wish too. The main aim of this project was to progress within our stitching skills whilst making something purposeful which we have done. Willow class have been very patient and shown a lot of resilience whilst trying to master their sewing practice and should all be very proud!

P.E
PE for this term will take place on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure that your child comes in a school PE kit and has a named water bottle in school.

 TOP TIPS FOR HOMEWORK...
~ Little and often...and not last minute! Give yourself enough time to complete homework tasks. Why not get as much done through the week so you can have the weekend off : )
~ Be comfortable...make sure you work in a comfortable space, perhaps with a drink and snack.
~ Have little screen breaks to keep your eyes healthy and happy!
