Weekly Blog & Homework ~ 19.6.23

Blog & Homework for week beginning 19.6.23

Dear parents and carers,
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend in the warm weather.
After the excitement of our class trip, Year 3 had another treat on Friday with Susie Cochrane and Cheryl Stewart who are supporting them with dancing, acting and singing as part of their Journey of a River project which they will perform at The Alnwick Playhouse. All of the children were so engaged throughout the whole day. I can't wait for you all to see the final performance! There is a Journey of a River assignment on Google Classroom to support them in their learning of the words which they must learn. The song words are available as well as recordings of their singing as a reminder of the tunes.

P.E
Willow Class will have swimming on Tuesday and P.E on Friday. Please make sure that your child brings their swimming kit to school on Tuesday, and comes in a school PE kit on Friday.

Homework Overview
Journey of a River ~ See Google Classroom for homework details.

Spellings ~ Spelling Frame - access Spelling Frame and complete at least 2 activities and a practice test.

Times Tables Rockstars ~ Jump on to TTRS to have fun building fluency with your times table calculations. Children should spend around 15-20 minutes minimum on Times Tables Rockstars each week. Fluency of multiplication facts will help your child in so many other areas of maths.
This week you have been set an assignment on Garage Bands.

Reading ~ Your child has a Guided Reading Book. Please ensure you read with your child as well as encouraging independent reading and leave a comment in the reading record to let us know how they are progressing. Your child can write comments too.
Please ensure your reading book and record is in your bag every day.

 TOP TIPS FOR HOMEWORK...
~ Little and often...and not last minute! Give yourself enough time to complete homework tasks. Why not get as much done through the week so you can have the weekend off : )
~ Be comfortable...make sure you work in a comfortable space, perhaps with a drink and snack.
~ Have little screen breaks to keep your eyes healthy and happy!

If for any reason, on any week, you have any issues with homework, please just let me know.
