6th November 2022

It was wonderful to see so many parents back in school for the mentoring meetings. We hope you enjoyed looking at the children’s work and hearing how they are getting on in school. Thank you for supporting our Scholastic Book fair during the week. Your generosity means that we will have a great total to spend on books for school. We'll let you know how much we get and what we spend it on.

As we look ahead to the coming week we will be marking Remembrance Day in assemblies and by selling poppies in support of the British Legion, these will be on sale from Monday.

The children in LKS2 will be visiting the Alnwick Library, we are hoping to repeat this visit every year so all children will become familiar with our local library as they pass through school.

After the excitement of Halloween and Bonfire Night it is a frightening thought that it is less than two weeks until the Christmas Fair at The Town Hall on Friday 18th November when the Christmas Lights are being switched on. Please come along, support the Friends and volunteer to help if you can.

We are in need of newspapers and old shirts for Art and DT lessons - please drop these off at the school office if you can assist.

Our spooky music last week was loved by some and disliked by others! We had great discussions in assemblies about the musical features which made it sound so sinister.  With Remembrance Day on the horizon, this beautifully animated piece is a good introduction to our children about why we pause to remember. We do hope that it’s a useful watch for our families this week.

Last week we were particularly impressed with Teddy McEwan, Darcy Hindhaugh, Jake Fordham-Scott, Charlie Burgess, Chayce Horne-Smith, Bea Quilliam, Ivy Archer, Nicola Welch, William Tate,  Robyn Saxton and  Elliot Chapman - our stars of the week, well done everyone.
