Head Teacher's Blog 15.04.24

14th April 2024

We’re looking forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday morning and hope that everyone has had a happy holiday!

We’ve got a busy summer term ahead of us and there’ll be lots of dates and events for you to note when the newsletter comes out within the next week.

In the meantime, here are the important things to know for the week ahead:

  • There are no teacher clubs this week but messages will be sent out in the next few days to confirm allocations for clubs recommencing in the week beginning 22nd April.

  • Willow and Maple classes swim on Tuesday. Following this, Maple and Chestnut classes will swim for the remainder of the half term.

  • We are looking forward to Maple Class family lunch on Wednesday. If you haven’t already confirmed that you will be attending, please do so by the end of the day on Monday. Please come to the main entrance for 11.45

  • Year 6 leavers’ hoodies will be ordered at the beginning of the week. If you haven’t already placed an order and would like to do so, please let Victoria or Gillian know.

  • The new summer lunch menu was sent out before the holiday, please ensure that you have ordered meals online, this includes selecting packed lunch if you are providing this option from home.

  • PE letters were sent out at the end of last term and give details of allocated days for each class.

As we move into the new term, please can I make a renewed request that all earrings are removed for school. If there is a reason that earrings cannot be taken out, plastic keepers can be worn for the period that this is necessary. A number of children have been wearing tape over earrings for prolonged periods of time now and this goes against both our uniform and health and safety policies. Letters from class teachers will be sent where earrings continue to be worn by children. Thank you for your support with this matter.

As we look forward to lots of outdoor activities over the summer term, here’s To Spring by Grieg to welcome in what we hope will be a great spring into summer!

Looking forward to seeing you all in the week,

Mrs G
