Head Teacher's Blog 04.09.23

3rd September 2023

Welcome back to the new school year - I do hope that everyone has had a great summer holiday!

We’re raring to get started and look forward to seeing the children on Wednesday morning.

Door for all classes from Reception to Year 6 will open at 08.35.

Doors for Apple Class and Cherry class will open at 08.45.

Collection at the end of the morning Apple Class and Cherry Class sessions is at 11.45 and collection for everyone at the end of the day is 15.00.

Of course, the weather forecast for next week looks sunny, warm and dry so please remember to send children with sunhats, suncream and water bottles. A raincoat is also a good idea… it is Northumberland!

Staff will be in touch soon with information about PE days and other useful class admin. Rest assured that no one will need a PE kit on the 1st day back so everyone should come in their normal school uniform. Don’t forget to remove earrings and nail varnish too - let’s get the year off to a good start with the correct dress and thank you in advance for your support in this.

The school newsletter will be out by the end of the week with details of the busy term to come - there are lots of opportunities for everyone to get involved in Swansfield life in the coming months.

So for now, enjoy today’s sunshine and here’s a tune that reminds me of holidays and will hopefully get your toes tapping. I would like the children’s help with our weekly music this term - it’s about time we heard some of their favourite tunes instead of the ones that I pick each week! I’d like the theme for the term to be ‘music we can dance to’. This could be a classical or traditional piece of music that gets you moving, it might be a tune from a film or cartoon you love or it might be a family favourite from your kitchen discos or car play list. Whatever it is, the children can pass me their suggestions on paper or by email. I look forward to sharing this music with everyone between now and Christmas!

See you bright and early on Wednesday morning - a warm welcome will be waiting!
