4th December 2022

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, the Christmas tree is up and rehearsals are well underway.  With this in mind can you remember to get your performance tickets from the office and bring in any costumes. The dress rehearsals will be on Monday 12th December, Lower key Stage 2 is at 9:15am with the Infant dress rehearsal at 1.45pm. We politely request that families with pre-school children bring them to these performances rather than the busier productions.

As we have a busy run up to Christmas we will be stopping after school clubs until January - this week is the last week of clubs run by school staff. .

Christmas jumper day on Friday 9th December. Please wear your Christmas jumper (or a jumper of your choice) together with the rest of your school uniform. As Rowan class are attending the Great North Museum on this day, we ask that they wear their full school uniform. If your child has PE on Friday please ensure that they have their usual joggers/leggings, trainers and a T-Shirt underneath their jumper.

As well as preparing for our Christmas performances in school, the children in choir are working hard to perfect their Christmas repertoire which they will be taking out into the community in the coming weeks. This will begin with singing for the Elderberries Christmas party at the Gardens on the 14th December. Whilst family and friends won’t be able to join us for this performance, we are going to be heading out singing on Friday 16th December. Look out for a letter in the next few days which will give you details of places and times that you’ll be able to join us. To get you in the mood, here is one of our old favourites which we can’t wait to perform for you all in the coming weeks.

Rowan Class will now have PE on a Tuesday afternoon for the remainder of this term. Please make sure children come to school in their warm, outdoor PE kit. Sycamore Class and Larch Class will be swimming.

Last week we were particularly impressed with the efforts of: Louie Porteous, Connor Wright, Victoria Eddy, Oliver Bonnett, Eliza Telfer, Franklin Stevens, Millie Jeffries, Evie Coxford, Sophie Tincombe, Archie McEwan, Freya Rogerson - our stars of the week, well done everyone.
