Head Teachers' blog 12.12.22
11th December 2022
Christmas celebrations are in full swing this week with our Infant performance on Tuesday afternoon at 1:45pm and Wednesday morning at 9:45am followed by the Lower Key Stage 2 performance on Wednesday afternoon at 2pm and again on Thursday evening starting at 6pm - please bring the children back at 5:30pm so they can get changed. If you have a pre-school child please come along to the dress rehearsals on Monday (LKS2 at 9:15am and Infants at 1:45pm).
The Choir also have a busy week ahead of them as they will be singing for Elderberries party on Wednesday at 1pm and on tour in the community on Friday starting with St Paul’s Court in the morning then Sainsbury’s (12:45), Starbucks (13:15) and finally Summerhill. Parents are welcome to join us at Sainsburys and Starbucks.
This week's whole school attendance is 95.37% - we’re watching this figure very closely as it is slipping gradually. This can be partially explained by the understandable concern about Strep A and Scarlet Fever but please ensure that your child gets into school if they are well to enjoy all the festivities. Be assured that we are being very vigilant and we will call home if we are worried about any child. Please refer to the letter sent earlier in the week for guidance but remember to look out for these symptoms:
-
Sore throat
-
Headache
-
Fever
-
A fine, pinkish or red body rash with a sandpapery feel
-
On darker skin the rash can be more difficult to detect visually but will have a sandpapery feel
Rowan class are top of the Christmas attendance league managing an impressive 100% attendance last week.
We are keeping an eye on the weather. Hopefully there will be no disruption to our planned events. But, please ensure contact details are up to date in the office and if necessary we will use text and Facebook to alert you to any changes. We’ll keep a snowy feel with our music for the week - let’s dream of a white Christmas after we break up from school!
