Head Teacher's Blog 19th September

18th September 2022

We begin this week with time to reflect on the very special contribution of the late Queen and mark a significant occasion in the history of our nation. Thank you to those of you who added to our book of condolence, the children have been very thoughtful and recognised that Queen Elizabeth II shared our personal characteristics of care, courage and curiosity.

As the term really gets into full swing we see the start of the NUF clubs, with LKS2 Football on Tuesday and  KS1 Football on Friday. Please can you remember to send children in the correct PE kits: plain white t-shirt with plain black leggings or purple shorts for all PE sessions.

Other clubs are scheduled to begin from Monday 26th September and we will be sending out the clubs list so children can choose what they would like to do.

Music lessons start this week with Mrs Nicklen, Miss Hewison and Mr Lyst - emails will be sent to confirm the days for lessons.

Our stand out stars from the last week were Joshua Taylor, William Green, Zach Archer, Jack Ellis, Emily Lamb, Jessica De La Mothe, James Bonnett, Phoebe-Plum Beere, Olivia Lee, Tiana Cairns, Evie Saunders and Sophie Hetherington, well done to you all.

Our music for this week was a special song for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, we hope that you enjoy it.  It is from Rogers and Hammerstein's musical Oklahoma
