Head Teacher's blog 24.05.2021

24th May 2021

Well we’ve nearly made it to half term and last week we have enjoyed a slight easing in the COVID restrictions and the children have been delighted to play with more friends within their phase. We have started to review our lunchtime procedures with our older children now collecting their meals from the hatch. After half term we’ll be introducing an exciting new menu – watch out for further information in the June newsletter.

On Wednesday we’ll be taking class photos and a year 6 leavers photo outdoors, let’s hope for reasonable weather!

Just a quick reminder that the swimming groups change this week. Sycamore and Rowan will be swimming while Larch class will have a coaching session with NUF.

Congratulations to Rowan class for being our highest scoring class in the National Numeracy Day Sumdog Competition, a fabulous team effort - well done! A special mention must also go to George Messenger and Luke Broster for managing to answer all of their 1000 allocated questions - great job!

Well done Fraser Allan (and Dad!) for making a fabulous snake garden ornament - look carefully in amongst the sunflowers to find it! The High School will be collecting any pom poms for their giant rainbow - please bring any completed pom poms to the office on Monday for collection.

This week’s music to make you happy is chosen by Leo and Alex M-S and is a bit of an earworm.  But, you’ll enjoy it!

Our stars of the week are: Cora McArthy, Harrison Crane, Eliza Telfer, Phoebe Beere, Niamh Atkiinson, Levi Adams, Emmie Keenan, Imogen Luke, Riley Wightman, Lilly Ha, George Messenger and Freya Flanighan. Well done everyone, an electronic certificate will be with you soon.

Congratulations to The Rose family for the safe arrival of baby James. Miss Reilly and Mrs Crowe will be teaching Ash class next week while Mr Rose is on paternity leave.

Remember that we have a training day on Monday 7th June so see you all back safe and well on Tuesday 8th June. Enjoy half term!
