Head Teacher's Blog 28.03.22

27th March 2022

Well, the clocks have sprung forward and we’ve enjoyed some wonderful spring weather in the last week. Whilst this may not last, it has been lovely to know that warmer weather is on the way! Our music for this week is Clocks by Coldplay. Can you hear the ticking clock that runs through this piece in the piano part? In music, this is called a riff or ostinato.

We do hope that you’ll consider coming along to the Friends AGM on Monday evening (28th) at 7pm. Please come into school via the main entrance. It really is essential that new people step up to help if we want to continue to raise money for the extras that really benefit the children in school. See you there!

In other events this week, senior choir (Years 3-6) meet at 3.00pm on Tuesday. Pick up is at 3.45pm from The Cut. Children will be released through the main entrance.

Sycamore Class consultations will take place on Friday 1st April. It’s not too late to sign up if you haven’t got an appointment yet.

There’s a Northumberland schools Sumdog competition this week for our KS2 children. Mrs Murdy will keep everyone up to date with the scores.

Just a reminder following our earlier email, the County Council will be resurfacing Swansfield Park Road and footpaths from 28th March until 15th April. This work will involve closures and diversions. Please consider walking if you can to minimise traffic around this area.

As always, there have been some Swansfield stars this week. A special well done to Harlee C and Phoebe R, Jack E, Sophia P, Lola A, Georgia Mc, Theo T, Evie B, Jake D, Ollie F, Caleb R.

Bye for now,

Mrs S and Mrs G
