Strike Action Feb 28th

17th February 2023

Dear Parents/Carers

As you will be aware the NEU are planning further strike action next half term, the first strike is scheduled for Tuesday 28th February.  Whilst union members are under no obligation to inform employers of their intention of striking until the day of action our team has informed us of their intentions to enable both the school and parents to make appropriate plans.

This action directly affects our ability to open to all children on Tuesday 28th February.

School  will be open but unfortunately there will be disruption for some children.

Cherry and Apple Classes

Open -  unaffected, attend your usual sessions

Pear and Plum Classes

Closed  except for prioritised groups in line with Department For Education (DFE) guidance

Ash, Oak and Beech Classes

Closed  except for prioritised groups in line with DFE guidance

Willow, Chestnut and Maple Classes

Closed  except for prioritised groups in line with DFE guidance

Sycamore, Rowan and Larch Classes

Open - unaffected by strike action, there is an expectation that all children attend as usual.

Tic Toc

Unaffected by strike action, open before and after school but not during the school day.

Obviously this is a dynamic situation and could be subject to change. We have given you advance warning of likely disruption, however, if the situation changes in any way, we will update you.

Any child who was allocated a place on the previous strike day (those with additional needs, those entitled to free school meals and those of critical workers) will have a place on the 28th February. If you are a critical worker and did not take a place previously, but now need this provision, please click here.

You can find a list of critical worker here at Annex A

Thank you for your support and understanding at this difficult time.

Kind regards,
