w/b 19th May

Hello Maple Class, another week already!
It is National Numeracy Day on Wednesday May 19th and to celebrate we are taking part in the National Numeracy Sumdog Contest. You have already had a practice in class and have been sent home with login information and this has also been emailed to you. The competition runs until Friday May 21st. You will be competing with other classes across the country and there is the chance to win certificates and points for your 'Sumdog House.'
So get logged on to Sumdog and boost our class score!
  • you simply play Sumdog's mathematics games and  as you do you'll answer questions that contribute to your score.
  • Our  class score is the average number of correct answers across the pupils who take part so everyone needs to log on.
  • There's a maximum of 1000 questions for each student - so accuracy is more important than speed; take your time with your answers as it is not how many you answer but how many you get right.
  • To qualify for the leaderboards, at least 5 students from a class need to play.
Spelling Frame - for our weekly test on Monday May 26th.
Heroes Stamp Design Competitionhttps://www.stampcompetition.ichild.co.uk/
You are all being sent home today (Monday 17th) with a Royal Mail template to design a stamp honouring a hero or heroes of the coronavirus pandemic.  Lots of ordinary people have helped us over a really difficult time and to see their image on a stamp would be a fantastic recognition of their efforts. There are clear instructions on the side of the template so please follow those closely and  your parents will also need to complete the independent covering entry form and return Freepost to Royal Mail by Friday 28th May.
**Please see below printable Royal Mail covering entry form and template.
