It was lovely to hear children having music lessons last week and we’re looking forward to the start of clubs and choir in the coming week, these extra opportunities give the children so much enjoyment as well as broaden their experience.
Individual and family group photos (with siblings from this school only) are taking place on Thursday. Please send children into school in their uniforms and note that if your child usually has PE on a Thursday, this will not take place this week.
The children enjoyed creating characters from potatoes to celebrate Roald Dahl day on Tuesday 13th September. Whilst some year groups are still finishing off their work we can announce that the upper key stage winners are: 1st place Kye Mattison, 2nd Isabelle Allen and 3rd Mamie Belshaw.
We have a couple of reminders for you, firstly the games yard will be supervised from 8:35am when the classroom doors open, please try to arrive on time as it will be cold hanging around in the winter. Secondly, please do not use the staff car park during pick-up and drop off times, this includes driving vehicles into the car park as well as walking through.
Good attendance is very important as it has a significant impact on progress. It is being closely monitored and we’re pleased to report that the whole school attendance is currently 96.7% with Larch achieving 97.7%. Please help us to maintain this by supporting your child to come to school every day - remember that it is school policy that holidays in term time will be unauthorised.
Congratulations to our stars of the week who have impressed us this week and made a great start to the new school year. They are Casey Smith, Emily Oxley, Elizabeth De La Mothe, Toby Chadwick, Logan Dodd, Jack Bouttell, MJ Pringle, Lucas Graham, Alisha Howd and Ellie Walker.
There seems to be a bit of an autumn feel this weekend with lots of the trees ‘turning’ and a cool nip in the air. Here’s a seasonal tune that you may remember from your own school days and one that the children at Swansfield have enjoyed singing over the years.
