Roots and Shoots visit

Our first KS1 visit of the school year was a tour of the Roots and Shoots Allotment at Alnwick Garden.   In Science  for the autumn our focus is on plants and harvest.  We are learning about different types of plants and touring the planting beds the children were able to see and identify a variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers.  Oak Class had lots of questions about what they could see which included Brussels sprouts, cabbages, rhubarb, courgettes, artichokes, apples, runner beans and flowers.  The crops were due to be harvested the following day.
