Head Teacher's Blog 11th June 2018

1st June 2018

We are very definitely back in the swing with lots of exciting things to tell you about.

Last week was a busy one out of school. Year 6 had lots of wonderful experiences in Yorkshire and Manchester while year 5 enjoyed the Eden Camp visit, the Safety workshop at RAF Boulmer and Mini-Medics training. The Countryside Day at Wooler was the highlight of the week for year 3 - next year we are planning to stay a little longer because there was just so much to do! I must say a big thank you to all the staff for organising these trips and to the sleep deprived Mr Shotton, Mrs Smith, Miss Moffet and Mrs Rutherford for looking after the year 6 children so well.

This week our key stage 1 children are going on a woodland trip at the Alnwick Gardens and 22 children from years 4 and 5 will be representing the school at a tag rugby tournament. It is also the year 1 phonics check week.

Don’t forget that it is Pear Class assembly on Thursday at 2:30pm.

Last week the attendance was 96.2% which is slightly above the school target of 96%. I have noticed several leave of absence requests recently, please remember that we will not authorise holidays in term time.
