Welcome to Rowan Class

Welcome to Rowan Class.

We hope that you are all safe and well and excited to join 'Team Rowan' in September.

This year, your return to school will be a little different. As a team, we will still have lots of fun and create lasting memories together.

We hope that this page will give you some of the useful information you need for joining Rowan Class in September.

Timings: 8:55 – 15:10 (Please arrive promptly)

You can arrive and leave the school site as a disclaimer if the school office has a signed disclaimer form, but you must have this form handed in to the office to be allowed to do so; otherwise you will need to be dropped off and collected. To minimise the number of people on site, we ask that only one adult accompanies their child to and from school. Please also make sure that you continue to follow social distancing rules and do not mix with children from other bubbles in order to prevent social mixing.

Site Access: Via The Park Gate and in through the classroom patio doors

Equipment: We have stationary packs ready and waiting for each and every one of you so please leave pencil cases and other pieces of equipment at home.  You will need to bring a named water bottle to school each day along with a pair of outdoor shoes and a sunhat. Please make sure that your outdoor shoes and sunhat are labelled.

PE kits: our first PE session will be on Tuesday the 8th September with Newcastle Academy, but please do not bring in your PE kit before then. Instead, on the days that we have PE (Tuesday) please come to school wearing your PE kit rather than your school uniform. If it is cold, you can wear a pear of joggers over your purple shorts. You will be wearing your PE kit for the whole day rather than getting changed. Don't worry as Miss Oliver and myself will remind you.

Homework & Spellings: We will continue to use our class page on the school website to inform you of your weekly homework and spelling tasks. Homework overviews will be uploaded on a Monday and you will have until the following Monday to complete the work. As well as homework and spellings, we will continue to use our class page to share photographs and work from our exciting lessons and experiences that we are doing in school so please do keep a lookout. We will also be sharing our Autumn term newsletter with you all electronically.

Miss Olivier and I are really looking forward to seeing you all, we have so many exciting things to tell you about, as I'm sure you will too! We'll make sure that we have lots of time to talk, sharing our thoughts, feelings and reflections on the last few months.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or queries, please just get in touch using the following email address: catherine.back@swansfield.northumberland.sch.uk

Take care everyone :)
